Hotel, Restaurant and Catering

Everyone who works in the hotel, restaurant or catering industry have the right to a minimum wage.

Norwegian industry requirements

Before you offer your services in Norway, you must find out whether special restrictions apply or permits are required for your business activities.  

In addition, certain industries have other, industry-specific requirements.

Agriculture and horticulture industry

All employees in the agriculture and horticulture industry have the right to a minimum wage.  

There are separate regulations for foreign labour in agriculture.

Electricians

Workers carrying out installation, assembly and maintenance of electrical systems for automation, computing, telecommunications etc., have the right to a minimum wage.

Fish processing enterprises

Skilled workers and production workers with associated work operations, warehouse workers, transport workers, security guards, cleaners, canteen workers, craftsmen, service technicians, supervisors, controllers, instructors and refrigeration technicians, cf. section 2 of the regulations on general application of the collective agreement for fish processing enterprises (Norwegian only), have the right a minimum wage.  

Freight transport by road

All employees carrying out freight transport by road (by means of vehicles of a total weight exceeding 3.5 tonnes), have the right a minimum wage.

Passenger transport by tour bus

Employees of enterprises operating passenger transport by coach or bus, have the right to a minimum wage.

Shipping and maritime construction industry

All employees in the shipping and maritime construction industry have the right to a minimum wage.
